Wyko was at Hillhead, the international quarrying and recycling show, from 26 to 28 June 2007 at Tarmac's Hillhead quarry in Buxton, Derbyshire. Hillhead 2007 offered visitors a great opportunity to experience the combined strength of Wyko's engineering capability and the Eriks Group's know-how for the first time - since Wyko joined the Eriks group in November 2006.
Visitors to Stand P136 had an opportunity to see the significant effects that pulley wear and drive belt selection can make on drive efficiency - most visitors were presented with a free Fenner Pulley Groove Gauge. This simple tool allows engineers or maintenance technicians to determine quickly and easily if pulley grooves are worn, enabling a decision to be made on whether remedial action needs to be taken.
Visitors were also able to discuss the fact that all Fenner classic shaft-mounted speed reducers are now eligible for Wyko's service exchange programme. Classic shaft-mounted gearboxes that are reaching the end of their service life can be exchanged for a replacement unit of the same model and dimensions, fully refurbished to as-new condition with factory-fresh components, including new shafts, gears, bearings and seals.
Other products on show included Wyko's full range of lubricants, the Simalube automated lubrication system, SRB split roller bearings and a full range of bearing services, demonstrating Wyko's bearing know-how. These technologies were complemented by Wyko's newly expanded range of sealing products. Supported by the Eriks Group's specialisation in this area, Wyko can assist in the design, manufacture or sourcing and fitting of sealing arrangements.
