2010 International Fluid Power Exhibition (IFPEX) show preview

The International Fluid Power Exhibition (IFPEX), which is organised by DFA Media and supported by the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), is described as the only exhibition in the UK totally focused on hydraulics and pneumatics and the 'must-attend exhibition for the fluid power/motion control industry.' This year's IFPEX - to be held in Hall 3 at the NEC, Birmingham, from 8-10 June 2010 - will feature many leading names from the world of fluid power including Stauff, Tom Parker, MP Filtri, Trident Hydraulics, Custom Fittings, Schwer Fittings UK, BYPY and Hydroscand.

Explaining Trident Hydraulics' decision to exhibit at the show, the company's director, Mike Forster, said: "I see the main benefit of IFPEX as helping us to reach potential customers who may be looking to purchase systems straight from the manufacturer. I am also looking to IFPEX to help us show exactly what we have to offer in terms of our range of hydraulic pumps, power units, hoses and hose repair, valves and accessories, manifolds, and motors - as well as our extensive system design-and-build service. We will also be showing our brand new stackable power pack at the show."

Mark Crowther, managing director at Custom Fittings, comments: "IFPEX has been a very good platform for Custom Fittings over the years. We have always seen it as our very own show for our industry. And because the show is now run alongside other important exhibitions - including MACH - this attracts even more visitors. We will be displaying our established ranges of stainless steel hose fittings, tube fittings and adaptors." Wolfgang Moellers, managing director, Schwer Fittings UK, said of the company's decision to once again exhibit at the event: "We see IFPEX as an ideal opportunity to promote our solutions and attract new customers. Schwer will be showing our complete product range, including our hose fittings, compression fittings, valves and adapters; plus our brand new interlock high-pressure hydraulic hose fittings range. We are keen to continue to invest in new product ranges and continue to increase our stock levels."

Richard Salisbury, sales director of BYPY, states: "The key benefits of IFPEX as I see them are: a good central location with easy access routes for all visitors and exhibitors; a show attracting visitors from a wide selection of industries due to the accompanying exhibitions; an opportunity to meet with existing and potential customers; and a good opportunity to meet with other business owners and discuss market conditions. BYPY will be exhibiting products primarily from four of our key suppliers: Brevini, Casappa, Eaton and Walvoil. The range of products covered will be: pumps - gear and piston; motors - gear, piston, gerotor and geroller; valves - directional including load-sensed and proportional, pressure and flow control; and modular power units - DC, AC and petrol engine up to 5.5kW. We look forward to another successful show having been very pleased with the numbers of visitors and enquiries at the 2008 event. With the weakness of Sterling it would be good to see this exhibition promoted as a true 'international' exhibition attracting business for UK companies from overseas buyers."

As before, IFPEX is one of several co-located exhibitions organised by DFA Media. Follow the links to read the show previews for the Drives & Controls exhibition, the Plant & Works exhibition (PWE) and Air-Tech. Also taking place at the NEC at the same time are MACH 2010, Subcon and Electrex.

In addition to the exhibition, the organisers have also assembled an excellent FREE seminar programme. For more information about the speakers and topics, see this article: Free seminars at Drives & Controls 2010 and co-located shows.
