Elscint is developing a special rotary/centrifugal feeder for feeding of plastic parts used in drip irrigation. Usually one rotary feeder is made for one type of part. However, when required, changeover tooling can be provided so as to accommodate more type of parts, making it very versatile. The Elscint rotary/centrifugal feeder has a rugged design and is made in cast iron casting and lined with suitable material for better rigidity.

An Elscint AC geared motor is used. Variable speed can be offered according to customer needs, enabling adjustment of the feeding speed according to the actual requirement of the user. The advantage of a rotary feeder as opposed to a vibratory parts feeder is that rotary feeders work at much higher speeds, and thus a better feed rate can be achieved. Other parts that can be fed through a rotary feeder are bottle caps, cylindrical rollers, needle rollers etc. However, critical component orientation is not possible using rotary feeders. Hence, in case of highly critical orientation, a vibratory bowl feeder is required. A stand for mounting the rotary feeder, with a height adjustment of (+/-) 100mm (or even (+/-) 200mm) can also be offered with the rotary feeder, as well as an extra capacity silo or hopper. Speeds of up to 20m per minute (with orientation) are available.
