8175 ultrasonic level transmitter in IP65 or IP67 housings
Burkert's Ultrasonic Level Transmitter Type 8175 provides continuous level measurement at distances of up to 10m. Integrating an ultrasonic sensor and a transducer with a large 8-digit multi-language display in a splash-proof IP65 or immersion-proof IP67 housing, the Type 8175 offers users a teach-in function for easy commissioning, and also delivers a low total cost of ownership.
Designed for use in water treatment, pharmaceutical, food and other hygiene-based industries, the 8175 is a non-contact filling level transmitter that can be used in both open and closed vessels.
Simple to use, with its menu-guided operation and 8-digit alphanumeric display, the Type 8175 delivers fast and easy commissioning with its integrated teach-in and Simulation functions. These enable different tank shapes (cylindrical, cubic or spherical) to be programmed easily via fixed default shapes, or at complex tank shapes in a step-by-step manner. Importantly, the simulation functions enable the system to be tested under dry-run conditions, and the resulting measured value can be shown as a level, a distance (in cm, m, inches or feet), or direct, as a volume (litre, m3, imperial gallon or US gallon).
Fail-safe
Underpinning its reliability in continuous process environments, the Type 8175 integrates a range of fail-safe features, including signal loss, power supply failure, and level or temperature alarms, which can be activated with an adjustable time delay. In addition, a range of filter functions control the return echoes and automatically eliminate all interference due to elements of the vessel.
The 8175 transmitter is powered with 18-32V DC (optionally 115/230V AC) and features a three-wire 4-20mA output for direct control of a continuous control valve, interface to a PLC, or for monitoring. Two optional 3A relays can be also configured as alarms or latched for automatic fill or empty operations.
Burkert offers the 8175 ultrasonic level transmitter together with process control valves as a complete, easy-to-control system. The transmitter can be used with Burkert Type 6213 solenoid valves, Type 2030 diaphragm valves, Type 2712 continuous TopControl System, Burkert 8644 valve islands and third-party PLCs in one totally integrated, easy to commission system.
