ABB launches drive registration service via app and online

As an incentive to encourage take-up of drive registration, ABB is offering 6-month extended warranty comprising drive repair or replacement with labour covered for selected drive types. The incentive follows the terms and conditions stipulated within the ABB Drive Care agreement, a contract-based initiative available in 44 countries.

To register a drive, an app can be downloaded to a smart phone from either the App Store or Google Play using the search term "ABB Drive Services' or users can register online at www.abb.com/drivereg. Once the app is downloaded, the drive's serial number and location is entered together with the end-user name, contact details, application and industry. Registration provides rapid access to product manuals and direct customer support contacts, without having to undertake extended web-based searches.

The app features a "check my drive' function from which the time of the next major preventive maintenance can be tracked.
