ACE presents NEWTONLINE, a new family of industrial gas springs
ACE Controls International is introducing a brand new family of gas springs that will now become their standard product range for customers. Called NEWTONLINE, ACE has integrated several notable innovations in this new generation of industrial gas springs to give customers a higher-quality product offering improved performance and lifespan.
NEWTONLINE gas springs are available in cylinder sizes from 15 to 40mm with strokes from 20 to 1000mm and force ranges from 40 to 5000 N. Externally, their striking grooves and graphite-grey UV coating offer performance benefits. The new grooves are not just a superficial design feature; they offer a substantial installation advantage for the user. Alongside improved stability, the two grooves provide better running properties as well as excellent concentricity and centring. Less friction is also produced, which means that the extension force of the springs is immediately available. The grey UV coating increases the mechanical strength of the tubes and, at the same time, offers improved resistance to chemicals and corrosion.
Internally, ACE has been able to implement five integral enhancements into this new range. A new slide bearing is accommodated in the piston rod's guide. This results in reduced friction and improved lubrication, leading to less wear and tear. In addition, the overall guide has been extended by some 50 per cent. This allows higher side load forces than before to be absorbed. This results in safer, longer lasting constructions and lower costs in the long-term thanks to the reduction of failure risks. The above also supports the use of a new seal in each NEWTONLINE pressure cylinder.
The smooth-running pistons with overflow channels are the fourth innovation. The larger passage for the compressed nitrogen gas makes it easier to compress the gas spring without compromising the controlled extension.
And finally, ACE also uses a new valve technology in NEWTONLINE. The industrial gas springs that can be individually filled and also filled on-site by customers have a new defined O-ring fitting. This gives more controlled filling and releasing of the pressurised nitrogen gas.
