Aerotech exhibiting at Optatec 2020
Aerotech is once again exhibiting at Optatec. The international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems takes place on November 17-19, 2020 in Frankfurt am Main. Aerotech will be exhibiting its newly launched small Hexapod HEX150 with a diameter of 150mm and a height of 141mm. The two-axis PlanarDL linear table will also be exhibited at Booth 118 in Hall 3.1. Both systems will be controlled with the innovative Automation1 control platform.

We will be launching our new "small' hexapod at the exhibition, the HEX150. The supporting program with top-class specialist lectures is an excellent knowledge platform and the SPECTARIS workshop and technology park will provide a lot of good industry insight."
As the smallest hexapod, the HEX150 with diameter of 150mm and a height of 141mm complements the existing HEX product range with diameters of 300 and 500mm. As with all HEX products Aerotech guarantees positioning accuracy specifications below 5 microns and sees potential applications in manufacture and test of optical components, automotive sensors, electronics, and medical devices. The unmistakable advantages of the multi-axis, parallel kinematic hexapod isits flexible six degrees of freedom coupled with accurate positioning. With the 132mm outside diameter moving platform, the HEX150 can manipulate loads of up to 10kg with travel ranges of up to 55mm linear and 50 degrees rotation and provides a central through aperture of 35mm diameter. The six degrees of freedom allow the multi-axis system to be used flexibly for a wide variety of applications. Simon Smith says: "We have customers in practically all industries. The HEX150 hexapod with its high load capacity, large movement area and high positioning speeds of up to 50mm/s leaves no compromise in application specification. The guaranteed high-accuracy positioning system impresses with its excellent mechanics and stiff mechanical leg design that incorporates slotless, brushless AC servo motors to ensure ultimate performance and a long service life. The AC servo motors are connected directly to the ball bearing spindle, which guarantees high drive rigidity. According to Aerotech, the HEX150 is currently the most precise hexapod on the market.
