Flexicon has appointed Andrew Shorthouse as its new works director. Steve Walton, who previously held the position of works director for Flexicon, will now become works director for sister company Griflex.
Adrian Poulton, managing director, says: "The last few years have seen rapid growth for Flexicon. Moving forwards this new appointment will add expertise and resource to our board of directors. These moves provide extra impetus for our sister company Griflex and also brings in some real heavyweight experience for Flexicon."
Shorthouse has held senior operations roles with FTSE blue-chip manufacturing organisations such as IMI, Tyco and Smiths Industries. He has also had extensive experience in the electrical industry working for another flexible conduit manufacturer. He comments: "As a rapidly growing company, there are several opportunities for Flexicon as we move forwards. My role is to develop and implement an operations and systems strategy that will ensure our continued profitable growth. I will also ensure that we build on our past success and implement operational change to deliver continuous improvement in quality, cost and customer service.
"Delivering systems improvements is important, but it is only part of the story. Flexicon has grown because it is fast and responsive to customers needs. We must continue to maintain this high level of customer service."
