Android touchscreen HMI is versatile, tough and reliable

Arbor's IOT-500 HMI panel is engineered to provide a high level of versatility and reliability for automation and system requirements. It is based on the MediaTek MTK MT2601 dual-core industrial chipset and supports the Android v5.1 operating system. Arbor says the combination of robust processing power, open operating system and a versatile hardware configuration establishes the IOT-500 as a leader in the HMI and IOT platform market.

In terms of connectivity, the IOT-500 includes LAN, two USB2.0 ports, one RS232 COM port and one GSM/GPRS SIM slot, plus there is a 2-megapixel camera and speaker with built-in microphone. The IOT-500 accepts DC power inputs of 12-24V and there are four GPIO ports and a CAN BUS connection for interfacing with motor vehicles. No matter what system needs to be controlled or monitored, Arbor says the IOT-500 provides flexibility and compatibility with industrial machinery, commercial equipment, motor vehicles and complex systems requiring virtualisation, remote monitoring, data acquisition and control.

Arbor's IOT-500 features a 5-inch high-resolution display and durable capacitive touch interface. The IP65 ingress protection rating, a MIL810 certification for shock and absorption, and a wide operating temperature range of -10 to 50degC (14degF to 122degF) ensures the IOT-500 is well suited to a variety of tasks in challenging environments.

Lightweight in construction, the IOT-500 is sealed in a waterproof chassis designed to perform in environments with high levels of vibration, shock and temperature extremes. The rugged construction is matched by an extensive set of integrated connectivity options including Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), GPRS/WCDMA and Bluetooth 4.1. Regardless of the environment or application, the IOT-500 would be a good choice for meeting HMI requirements.
