Atlas Copco achieves ISO 22000 Food Safety System Certification
Atlas Copco is the only compressor manufacturer to have received ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems certification from Lloyds Register for its production facility in Antwerp, Belgium, which manufactures state-of-the-art oil-free air compressors, blowers and air treatment products.
In today's world, food manufacturers are becoming increasingly stringent about the importance of food quality, making compliance with food safety regulations and standards essential. ISO 22000 specifies the requirements for a food safety management system where an organisation in the food chain needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe at the time of human consumption.
Compressed air is a safe and reliable power source, commonly referred to as the "fourth utility' alongside electricity, water and gas. It is widely used throughout the food and beverage industry and regularly comes into contact with end products in many applications.
