Atlas Copco launches next-generation ZS 4 (VSD) oil-free screw blowers

Building on the success of the ZS blower platform and incorporating advancements from VSD+ (variable speed drive) technology, the ZS 4 (VSD) delivers enhanced energy efficiency, optimised pressure performance, lower lifecycle costs and quieter operation for demanding industrial applications.

The ZS 4 (VSD) is available with a low pressure (below 800 mbar) element for applications such as wastewater aeration. For pneumatic conveying and other industrial settings, it offers an advanced high-pressure element. The new blower range includes an innovative smart pressure split design, ensuring optimal operation across varying pressure demands; and is available in a power range of 37-90 kW. Its high-efficiency IE4/IE5 motor helps reduce energy consumption while maintaining stable airflow and consistent output.

With up to 35% greater energy efficiency compared to traditional lobe blowers and a 3% improvement in specific energy requirement (SER), the ZS 4 (VSD) helps customers lower operating costs and reduce total cost of ownership. Performance benefits include stable airflow, even under constant load, and optimised output across varying pressure requirements. Class 0 oil-free compression ensures clean, reliable air, while noise levels as low as 75 dB(A) - due to refined acoustics and internal damping - support improved working environments.

Reliability features include a warranty of up to 5 years on the screw element (up to 60,000 hours - subject to the use of Atlas Copco genuine parts and certified service), robust construction for harsh industrial conditions and reduced mechanical stress for fewer failure points and a longer lifespan.
