Benefits of TSN discussed at ARC Industry Forum Europe 2019

ARC Industry Forum Europe 2019's corporate sponsor, the CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA), hosted a key forum discussion among European industry leaders on how to drive the digital transformation of businesses with high-performance industrial communication networks and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN). During the event, which took place in Sitges, Spain, the CLPA witnessed a growing interest from premier European manufacturers for its latest Ethernet technology, CC-Link IE TSN.

The ARC Industry Forum brings together decision-makers and top-level managers from a wide range of European industries to discuss the leading technologies and trends in manufacturing. The 2019 edition focused on how to embark and succeed in a digital transformation journey.

As a renowned industry leader the CLPA shared its view on this theme at the forum. The company's open network technologies are de facto standards in Asia and are well accepted in Europe and the Americas. During the session on "Industrial Communications Workshop: Unleashing the Power of TSN", John Browett, General Manager at CLPA Europe, explained why TSN is a gateway to digitalisation.

This was followed by an interactive panel discussion, which raised the interest of many European premier manufacturers, also featured representatives from other industry leaders, such as Grenzebach Digital, Mitsubishi Electric, Renesas Electronics and TTTech.

CC-Link IE TSN combines Gigabit bandwidth and TSN to address the needs of Industry 4.0 applications, such as merging information technology (IT) with operational technology (OT) with maximum performance. In fact, John Browett emphasised that TSN will have a crucial role in supporting interconnected factories. By offering CC-Link IE TSN, the CLPA provides a migration path for today's installed base and pending projects to use it in the future.

Attendees at the ARC Industry Forum Europe 2019 were also able to discuss the benefits of TSN technology with the CLPA and learn how CC-Link IE TSN can support their digital transformation as well as boost their manufacturing plants by offering advanced performance, connectivity and intelligence.

John Browett comments: "We were pleased to contribute once more to ARC's productive discussions and see many managers following with great interest the workshop on the innovative TSN technology. Delivering cutting-edge solutions that support the implementation of Smart Factories is extremely important for the CLPA, and we believe that our latest industrial Ethernet, CC-Link IE TSN, is the technology leader for open industrial Ethernet and Industry 4.0. We think that CC-Link IE TSN will deliver the necessary tools to embrace the fourth industrial revolution and build the interconnected factory of the future."
