Bespoke gearbox inputs, even for a one off

jbj Techniques says that the input can be from an electric motor, a hydraulic motor, an air motor or bare shaft, be it either a splined or parallel keyed input. The company offers 32 sizes with output torques of up to 1.000,000 Nm and transmissible power up to and above 550 kW. Designers can choose ratios ranging from 3:1 to over 3000:1 in units which the company says are acclaimed for the high efficiency of up to 98.5% per stage. The units feature a modular structure and the range includes full planetary in-line and combined Gleason-planetary right-angle units too, in 1 to 4 reduction stages with 5 stages available on request.

Machine designers and builders can choose an optional spring applied-hydraulically released multi-disc brake and can also specify flange, foot and shaft mounting versions with a bare shaft output also available. The output shafts themselves include solid keyed, solid splined, and hollow splined versions, and also for shrink disc mounting. jbj says that it also has available a wide range of accessories for the low speed shaft including drive flanges, splined bushings, slew pinions, splined rods, shrink discs and torque arms.

Of note is the fact that a broad selection of input adaptors to suit standard electric motors (both IEC and NEMA) together with air and hydraulic motors are available with male input shafts for mechanical  linkages.
