Bosch Rexroth revealed a host of applications at this year's SPE Offshore Europe exhibition and conference in Aberdeen (3rd - 6th September). The stand showcased a fully operational Active Heave Compensation system, new hydraulic cylinders featuring Enduroq surface technology and a working Hgglunds CB motor, as part of its wider product portfolio, attracting a large number of visitors over the four day event.
The expert team at Bosch Rexroth were on hand to talk about the Active Heave Compensation system and how, by integrating accumulators into the control process, end users can achieve energy savings of up to seventy five per cent.
Attendees also had the chance to find out more about Bosch Rexroth's Enduroq surface technology. Large hydraulic cylinders are often exposed to harsh environmental conditions, particularly in the offshore industry, and Enduroq offers optimum protection and thereby extends the uptime of cylinders and decreases life cycle costs.
Bosch Rexroth experts also provided details on the new Hgglunds CB hydraulic motor, which packs 50 per cent more torque into a motor that is smaller and up to 50 per cent lighter than its predecessor, giving it, the company says, the world's highest torque-to-weight ratio.
Steve Smith, head of Marine and Offshore at Bosch Rexroth, says: "Offshore Europe is the largest oil and gas exhibition in Europe and is the ideal platform to showcase the extensive variety of technologies and applications we can offer to the marine and offshore sector. From reduction in energy consumption and increased performance to reduced life cycle costs and special coatings, we are committed to helping the industry meet engineering challenges, cut costs and improve functionality within this industry."
The sold-out exhibition was the largest to date, with more than 1500 organisations covering operators, drilling contractors and oilfield service companies in attendance. For further information about Bosch Rexroth and its work in the marine and offshore industry visit www.boschrexroth.co.uk/oe.
