A new chainflex cable box means big shipping cost savings for customers
John Barker, chainflex cable product manager for igus, comments: “Instead of pallet deliveries by courier, we now deliver cables by parcel service in a recyclable box. Customers save up to 84% on their shipping cost and, because the boxes are stackable, it has never been easier to set up a customised storage at the production site.”
The solution is, states igus, also proving a popular and practical solution for companies that do not have the capacity for large or expensive cable racks and so store their cables on shelves. The cables are protected, and a specially designed drum means they can be easily unreeled straight from the box. "As the box is made entirely of corrugated cardboard, it is extremely light, but also robust and easy to recycle", adds Barker.
But what do you do when the drum is empty? The igus chainflex CASE includes a QR code that directs customers straight to the company’s online shop where cables can be re-ordered with just a few clicks.
