B&R takes on 1000th employee
B&R has welcomed Markus Schmidt as the 1,000th employee at the company headquarters in Eggelsberg. The 26-year-old, who studied business information technology at the University of Linz, is now employed as SAP organisation developer.
Above-average growth of the Eggelsberg-based company has led to plans for an expansion of the headquarters, with an investment worth nearly EUR25million. This will create approximately 500 new jobs for production, development and sales by 2011.
Founded in 1979, B&R claims to have become the largest private company in the area of integrated automation for series machine manufacturing. The product range includes controls, visualisations products, industrial PCs, motion control products, software, and complete process control systems.
