With no need for installation in a switching cabinet, the X67 I/O system from B&R offers complete freedom to use various control topologies and is claimed to perform as fast as a centralised system. Because of their IP67 protection, the compact X67 modules can be installed anywhere on the machine, and provide high performance and ruggedness even in harsh conditions. The X67 system can span over 25km (up to 100m between modules), so users are not limited with regard to placement of the modules.
