Calculation program aids DC motor selection
Delta Line Europe has developed a DC motor calculation program that is said to be extremely simple to use, as well as very flexible.
Relatively simple torque-speed and voltage-current calculations can be performed with the calculator, plus users can simulate graphically the thermal behaviour of the motor on a time basis, within ambient temperature parameters, as well as simulate heat dissipation under defined conditions.
The other important feature of the new DC motor calculation program is the integration of the Portescap full-line standard DC motor and gearbox catalogue. There is therefore no need to enter motor and gearbox parameters manually. Users just select the desired motor and/or gearbox, and all the important catalogue specifications are loaded automatically.
Lastly, the graphical working range recommendations give the designer valuable information about a relative lifetime expectation for the selected product within the given application environment.
