Calibration services solve problems for manufacturer

Hitek's in-house and on-site calibration services, together with its web portal and ability to work with specialist subcontractors, has solved several problems for a UK-based manufacturer.

Hitek prides itself on customer service and commitment. Although it is not the largest calibration house in the UK, the company is capable of providing services UK-wide, and each customer is valued on an individual basis. Customers range from those with 1000+ employees to those of just one person, and all are treated equally.

Our new customer, a manufacturing business based in the South East, has been regularly using Hitek's various calibration services; previously the company had been experiencing problems with another service provider that unfortunately are quite common.

  • The customer has a list of instruments that require annual calibration, all of which fall due throughout the year and require monitoring.
  • The previous provider was taking weeks to return instruments without giving any explanation.
  • The list of instruments due for calibration was unorganised and therefore instruments were becoming overdue.

Hitek was able to offer a fully managed calibration service. Once the list of instruments had been received from the customer, Hitek quoted prices for annual calibration, with those prices fixed for a year.

Once instruments were due calibration, Hitek arranged for collection, successfully carried out the calibration within five working days, and delivered the instruments back to the customer. Hitek also provided an engineer to work on site for one day so that instruments that could not leave the customer's premises were able to be calibrated. For instruments that Hitek was unable to calibrate in-house, a quote was obtained from an approved subcontractor who gave a fast turnaround of three days so Hitek's customer was not left without its instruments.

Hitek has a customer web portal that keeps a record of instrument history, including due calibration dates and certificates. Calibration reminders are sent automatically when instruments are due, so no instruments fall out of calibration. In addition, the customer has peace of mind that, should a re-printed certificate or the calibration history of an instrument be required, this can be provided straight away.

The customer states: "I initially came to Hitek as they are a company based not too far from our office. After meeting with Hitek and finding out about the mobile lab and customer web portal, I realised this could solve a lot of our headaches. We have since used Hitek on an almost weekly basis for calibrations and are very happy with the service and turnaround times. We have used the Mobile lab which worked well for us. On the whole, I will continue to use Hitek for the foreseeable future and I would recommend Hitek to businesses in need of reliable calibration services."
