Camloc Motion Control introduces telescopic positioning stay

October sees the launch of a new product for Camloc Motion Control, and it is a different, yet fitting, addition to the range for a manufacturer better known for its gas struts, springs, dampers, brackets and end fittings. The "Cam-Stay' is a telescopic positioning stay designed for a wide range of applications where a weight must be held or supported at various angles. Easy to assemble, this user-friendly multi-positional stay with its fixed holding positions, provides quick and steadfast support for weights up to 135kg.

It is available in three versions: Basic with five locking positions; Basic with 10 locking positions; and Reversible with six locking positions.

Camloc's Managing Director, Tony Calvert says: "We're sure that Cam-Stay's particular appeal will be how easy it is to assemble and use. To operate the Basic versions, all you need to do is slightly extend the arm from its closed state until it locates into the chosen holding position. To close it, simply fully extend the stay before returning it to the closed position. For the Reversible version, extend the arm from its closed position until it locks into the desired holding, and then it can be closed by extending it slightly out of its current position - it does not need to be fully extended before closing."

As Cam-Stay has up to 10 predetermined holding positions it is suitable for almost any application where a lid, panel or weight needs to be securely held. Typical applications include access hatches or panels, machine guards, desk lids, storage boxes, tool and site boxes as well as hospital, physio and massage beds, display panels and signage.

Made from carbon steel and with a warranty of one year or around 20,000 lockings, this maintenance-free telescopic positioning stay can be mounted with the holding slots mounted up or down, directly on to an application through the holes, or by mounting brackets.

Cam-Stays do require the user to lift the application, but if the application is too heavy or cumbersome, a Camloc gas spring could always be used to provide additional lift assistance.

Tony Calvert adds: "The Cam-Stay lends itself to a huge variety of applications - from physio beds to garden storage units. It's an excellent addition to our range, and the first of several new, innovative Camloc products to be launched over the coming months."
