Carlo Gavazzi launches new range of safety light curtains
Carlo Gavazzi Automation is launching the new SC range of safety light curtains: the SC2 (Category 2) and the SC4 (Category 4). Improved response times, described as among the lowest in the market, allows the safety light curtains to be installed even nearer to the dangerous area. These new series of safety light curtains are designed for the protection of people, machines and manufacturing plants and complements Carlo Gavazzi's range of safety products. The SC series will open the door to a wider spectrum of industrial automation applications thanks to its comprehensive new features, such as compact body, configuration push buttons and faster and easier installation.
Victor Ruiz, International Product Manager, says: "The new safety light curtains represent a sterling addition to Carlo Gavazzi's safety product range, delivering a perfect solution when used in combination with other safety products. For example, the CERTUS configurable safety modules can provide muting capability to an application via intelligent function blocks, when working in combination with the SC2/SC4 safety light curtains without embedded muting function. This represents an attractive business proposition for OEMs, system integrators, distributors and end-users in terms of versatility and price."
With this launch, Carlo Gavazzi expects to increase its turnover in the following areas: Packaging & Wrapping, End of line (robots, palletizers / de-palletizers), Semiconductors, Materials Handling and industrial Press Brakes.

- Operating distance: 0.2 to 6m for 14mm finger resolution; 0.2 to 19m for 30mm hand resolution
