Competitive performance and innovative features amongst plus points
Norstat now offers a category 4 Light Curtain that is said to provide competitive performance and innovative features, all in a robust, compact housing.
The EOS4 features a compact aluminium housing, measuring only 30 x 28mm, that can detect finger, hand or whole body, as well as utilise a multibeam function for access control. “The EOS4 has easy connection and installation, thanks to M12 connectors, comes standard with 2 safety PNP static outputs, as well as hardware configuration, which eliminates programming,” states Norstat.
Integrated safety functions
The EOS4 Light Curtain line includes models with integrated safety functions, including self-monitoring of static outputs, control of external contactors, plus an automatic/manual selectable restart function.
Master/Slave models are available for cascade connections of two or more units. The EOS4 is also available in vibration-resistant models, explosion proof ATEX model or with a watertight, food graded, IP 69K certified enclosure, making these light curtains “ideal for robotic cells, textile, assembly lines, food processing, as well as cutting, punching, or pressing applications”.
The EOS4 conforms to safety levels SIL3, SILCL3, PL e and Category 4, has an operating temperature range of -10° C to +55° C and carries a protection rating of IP 65/IP 67 at the same time, while also being highly resistant to infiltration by dust and liquids.
