Schaffner reintroduces FN2415 single-phase EMC filter
Schaffner has reintroduced its FN2415 single-phase EMC filter for control equipment, and it features extended capabilities. Large and complex machine tools with multiple driving axes and very long motor cables can suffer from reliability problems caused by the internal coupling of interferences from the drive system to the control wires. This can cause dropouts, and it also interrupts the control unit and can consequently lead to the unnecessary and costly downtime of a machine. The FN 2415 EMC filter, designed for the control lines of complex equipment and machinery, is stated to eliminate interference which affects PLCs and motion or robot control systems, thus increasing the system stability and reliability of the entire machine. It can also be used, says Schaffner, for diverse single-phase applications such as motor drives and power supplies.
