Allen-Bradley PLC starter kits for industrial automation at RS

RS Components is introducing two programmable logic controller (PLC) starter packs from industrial automation specialist Allen-Bradley, part of the Rockwell Automation group. The Micro850 and Micro820 Starter Packs contain all the hardware needed to get up and running with the Allen-Bradley Micro850 and Micro820 PLCs, respectively, including power supplies (PSU), controller accessories and graphic terminals. OEM machine builders can develop standalone applications quickly and inexpensively, without the need to invest in full automated systems.

New features and frame sizes for WEG SSW900 soft starters

WEG is extending its SSW900 series of soft starters. The series previously consisted of four frame sizes A to D, covering output currents from 10A to 412A in the voltage range of 220 to 575V 3-phase AC. Now, WEG has introduced frame size E for the current range of 480 to 670A.

SP mag-drive pumps for safer handling of difficult liquids

Magnetically driven, self-priming centrifugal pumps are well established as the preferred type of pump for handling aggressive, corrosive and other hazardous liquids thanks to their proven ability for safe, reliable, leak-free and low maintenance operation. A good example of this type of pump is the Finish Thompson SP series of magnetic drive, self-priming centrifugal pumps, available from Michael Smith Engineers (MSE).

ESAB Dual Shield Prime low-hydrogen fcaw wires resist moisture

ESAB's Dual Shield Prime is a family of seamless, low-hydrogen (H4) non-copper-coated flux cored wires that combat moisture absorption in humid environments, delivering impact toughness down to -60degC. Tests performed in accordance with AWS standards show an initial level of 2.17ml of diffusible hydrogen per 100g of deposited weld metal; after 1 week of exposure with a 90 per cent RH at 30degC, Dual Shield Prime demonstrated just 2.35ml of diffusible hydrogen.

Protective laminates for printed labels

Phoenix Contact's marking material portfolio now includes labels with protective laminate against external influences. The laminate is adhered to the printing surface after the printed base label has been attached. This will protect the marking against external influences.

Frameless motors for high-performance motion control

Recently launched by Allied Motion Inc and available with full support from Mclennan, new KinetiMax HPD series outer rotor brushless motors deliver a high torque-to-weight ratio and excellent efficiency as a compact and frameless rotor/stator part-set. Available in six frame sizes, from 62 to 125mm outer diameter - each with three standard stack lengths for optimal performance matching - the high power density motors offer a smooth, low-cogging and continuously rated torque from 0.24 to 6.7Nm with power output up to 1170W.

Lubricator e-kit simplifies maintenance of electric motors

An efficient and economical lubrication concept includes not only the choice of a suitable lubricant but also the provision for relubrication. Schaeffler has developed an e-kit specifically for electric motors, being suitable for use with the company's automatic CONCEPT2 lubricator. This can independently supply up to two lubrication points with lubricant.
