Lubricator reduces maintenance for push-pull chain actuator

The Grob Linear Chain actuator from R.A. Rodriguez is a hugely popular system for push-pull applications involving long strokes, where space is at a premium and weight needs to be minimised. These credentials have resulted in the product being specified for a wide range of tasks but until now its scope has been limited by the need for the user to lubricate the system manually as part of a routine maintenance regime.

Eaton's easyE4 family extended to 240V

Eaton has extended the easyE4 product family to include 240V AC devices. The extension makes the versatile range of functions, in addition to 24V DC applications in industrial automation environments, an alternative to Building control applications of low to medium complexity. The solution can also offer enhanced networking opportunities by allowing connected products to integrate onto IIoT networks using an enhanced Ethernet interface - expanding communication possibilities in small automation systems.

Robust and durable absolute linear encoders with SSI interface

Leine Linde's RLA 4200 series absolute linear encoders include the measurement specialist's well proven inductive scanning technology that provides high resistance to shock loads, vibration and extreme environmental conditions. Originally with an EnDAT interface and now offered with a universal SSI option, the robust and durable measurement technology is particularly suited to precision position feedback for heavy-duty industrial applications. Available with full support from Leine Linde's UK distribution partner Mclennan, the RLA 4200 series includes scale length options of 140, 200 and 260mm with accuracy to within +/-2 microns and linearity to +5 microns per metre.

Ensenso XR 3D camera family features integrated data processing

The Ensenso XR is the first stereo vision camera offered by IDS that processes 3D data directly in the FPGA. The 3D camera system is therefore particularly suitable for computing-intensive applications such as bin picking or in-line measurements. The camera family initially consists of XR30 and XR36 models. They are very robust thanks to IP65/67 protection class, feature 1.6 MP Sony sensors and can detect objects at working distances of up to 5m.

"˜Skinny & Strong' low-index, high-pressure compression springs

The Lee Spring catalogue has always offered springs with relatively high spring rates or workable (maximum) loads. Often, however, the standard outside diameters were too wide to fit within the intended application assembly requirements, or the lengths too long and bulky. Now Lee Spring has introduced "˜Skinny & Strong' low-index, high-pressure compression springs. This new firm, slender spring design offers a high spring rate in a smaller compression spring diameter, without sacrificing any of the pressure and is well suited for operation in confined spaces.

Spindle bearings for high-speed, high-precision machine tools

At EMO 2019 NSK presented its new Robustride cylindrical roller bearings for the spindle drives of high-speed, high-precision machine tools. These advanced bearings feature an optimised cage that facilitates more even lubricant distribution, which in turn reduces bearing wear, especially under high loads. Also launched at the show were NSK's Robust angular contact ball bearings with improved accuracy class.

Schaeffler M-series bearings improve spindle robustness

The performance capability and productivity of machine tools are significantly defined by the main spindle, whereas the suitability for high speeds, rigidity and robustness against operational influences are defined by the spindle bearing. Important development objectives for the M-series FAG spindle bearings in X-life quality included an internal design with particularly optimised friction behaviour and a high tolerance towards rapidly changing thermal operating conditions such as those that frequently occur in motor spindles. The optimised design greatly reduces the rise in bearing preload caused by influencing factors such as interference between the bore and the bearing, high speeds, and large temperature gradients between the shaft and housing.

Flir CM94 high-current clamp meter for industrial diagnostics

Flir Systems is launching the Flir CM94 2000-amp AC/DC electrical utility clamp meter. Designed to tackle high current electrical measurements in demanding utility and industrial job sites, the CM94 features an oversized jaw to easily manage larger conductors and busbars. With CAT IV-1000-volt overvoltage protection, the Flir CM94 works on relays, distribution panels, vaults, switchgears and switchboards, as well as on service conductors, feeders, and production power lines.
