Drives with certifications for marine applications

Yaskawa has gained new marine certifications for its U1000 Matrix Drive, including: NK, BV, DNV/GL, ABS, LR and KR. This innovative technology controls the motor load by directly converting AC input voltage to AC output voltage and offers many advantages compared to conventional AC drive designs, where the power conversion is AC to DC to AC.

Magnetic encoders with outstanding precision and robustness

Magnetic encoders are acknowledged as one of the most efficient ways of measuring rotation angles in many motion control applications, be they stationary or mobile. As co-inventor and a pioneer of the magnetic encoder principle, Baumer has introduced a range of magnetic encoders which provide resolutions which until recently were only possible by using optical encoders.

Fibre optic LED emitter transmits data over greater distances

OMC is launching a fibre optic emitter, designated the FDE854LBF, incorporating next-generation infra-red die technology and integral micro-optics to achieve high levels of coupled power into all standard fibre-optic core sizes. The new transmitter is optimised for use with glass fibre-optic systems and thanks to both higher launch powers (up to 30 per cent increase over the previous device generation) and enhanced consistency from device to device, delivers far superior performance, enabling data to be sent over greater distances - up to a kilometre further depending on fibre type and size.

Heavy-duty die springs are strong, resilient and low cost

Lee Spring's Heavy Duty Die Springs are not like an average spring; they are made from different shaped wire from traditional die springs, and they work in slightly different ways. But different is a good thing and, as a result, these springs offer a number of benefits for typical applications such as die presses, engineering machinery, brakes, clutches, soft drive mechanisms and agricultural equipment.
