A reliable resistor supply

Plant managers across the UK have struggled for years to replace damaged power resistors for one reason or another. Often, the original supplier no longer exists in the UK market, or does not supply resistors any longer, so managers are forced to look for the required components elsewhere. Whether the application is crane control, pumps, fans or compressors, replacement resistors are still needed for legacy systems. Building selective catalytic reduction systems

Increasing pressure to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere has led to a number of design changes for internal combustion engines as well as addition investment by coal-fired power stations and waste incinerators. As attention turns to the oxides of nitrogen, which are collectively known as NOx gases, commercial diesel engine manufacturers, amongst others, are looking for packaged systems that will deliver reliable emissions control.

Energy efficient drives make new bottling line possible

SEW Eurodrive has supplied an energy efficient drive system to drinks manufacturer, Radnor Hills, that has helped make a new bottling line possible. The new line will enable the company to increase production from 175 million to around 300 million bottles a year, as part of a planned expansion program to meet growing demand for its products.

Belgian Public Employment Service buys 50 ESAB welding machines

VDAB is the public employment service of Flanders, Belgium, with a remit to make the Flanders labour market as transparent and dynamic as possible. An important element of VDAB's work is training and, to support this role, the organisation has purchased 25 universal welding machines from ESAB, plus 25 of ESAB's Tig welding machines. These will be used at 11 different sites throughout Flanders for training and certifying operatives in possession of different skill levels - from beginners to experienced welders - working in industries including automotive components, construction, and a wide variety of light and medium engineering industries.
