Process control with Equator gauging system

The quality of the products a company produces, and their assurance of that quality, can mean all the difference to successfully acquiring contracts. Maintaining that quality also significantly increases the chances of repeat business. High-Tech Engineering, a precision engineering company based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, UK, has always focused on the quality of the parts it produces. Now with its latest addition, a Renishaw Equator gauging system, it is reaching 100 per cent part inspection and zero scrap whilst halving the operator requirements and reducing part production costs by 27 per cent.

Protecting high-performance test stands reliably

High performance density, quick measurement value recording or increased energy-saving potential - the requirements on modern test stands are continually increasing. With these increasingly complex concepts come increased performance requirements on the torque-limiting clutches which protect expensive test pieces and sensitive measurement units. With the EAS-HSC and EAS-HSE high-speed clutches, mayr power transmission has developed clutches which are especially tailored to the requirements of test stand technology, and which also work reliably at high speeds.

Flexible control system enables savings for washing machines

If, for practical reasons, an industrial Washer Extractor Machine (WEM) is not fully loaded, regulations still demand that the full amount of detergent and water be used for the load. This leads to unnecessarily high resource and energy consumption. In co-operation with the laundry company Ahrens Textilservice, Ott Wäschereitechnik GmbH has developed an innovative control system based on Eaton technology that will save both money and resources. Simultaneously, the system enables the co-ordinated drainage of a number of washing machines connected to a shared drain pipe.

Innovative automated tube bending cell allows increased output

The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company has installed a second custom-designed automated production cell from Unison to help meet huge demand for its unique "˜barrow in a box' product. The cell is part of a new production line that makes the frames for these wheelbarrows, and fully automates all tube bending operations. Commissioned during the summer of 2105, it has enabled the company to increase manufacturing throughput - from 1800 to 3500 wheelbarrows per day.

Tsubaki has the answer for automotive coating applications

Automotive manufacturers put incredible emphasis on the paint finish of their new vehicles. Not only is immaculate paintwork essential for that "˜showroom appearance', it is also a vital element in the long-term environmental protection of the body panels. Therefore paint shop plant and equipment must be of the highest calibre, and even the drive chains must be of a quality that ensures smooth operations and reliable long-term performance in harsh working conditions.
