Miniature actuation products for Steeper's bebionic hand

Sales of the latest version of the bebionic hand are exceeding expectations at Steeper and Reliance is delighted to be continuing its strong supplier relationship with the prosthetics companies as the bebionic range expands. Following on from its involvement in the design and manufacture of the original bebionic hand Reliance has continued to provide design support to Steeper during the 12 month development programme for the new small hand.

Harwin connectors fulfil vital role in CubeSat launch into space

Harwin congratulates Warwick University on the successful launch its WUSAT-2 satellite earlier this month. The student-run project, which has now built and launched a small 10×10×10cm CubeSat satellite into space, relies on high-reliability, miniature connectors from Harwin to provide the vital interconnect used in experimental equipment carried by the satellite.

Emerson improves extrusion machine efficiency and accuracy

The manufacturing site of Clariant at Izmit, Turkey, has adopted high-performance Emerson Industrial Automation technology to help it overcome issues surrounding maintenance and inefficiency. Control Techniques' Unidrive M, in tandem with a Leroy-Somer Dyneo permanent magnet synchronous motor from Emerson Industrial Automation, is being used on a process-critical extrusion machine in order to help boost both the efficiency and accuracy of its work for customers in the plastics and chemical industries.

igus low-friction tribo tape improves endurance race reliability

What is classed as "˜the most extraordinary journey possible in a motor car' will kick start next year when more than 100 vehicles, in Vintageant and Classic categories, will attempt the 6th Peking to Paris Motor Challenge. Starting from the Great Wall of China near Beijing on 12th June 2016 and just over a month later ending in Paris, the intrepid drivers will cross the finish line in Place Vendome on 17th July.

Warner Linear cuts downtime for off-highway vehicle maintenance
