Profiling machine manufacturer uses Precision Ring Track system

Dewsbury-based machine builder Techserv Cutting Systems Ltd is using the PRT2 Precision Ring Track system from HepcoMotion to provide vital competitive gain in the marketplace for CNC gas cutting and profiling systems. The PRT2 allows users of these machines - which deploy three automatic rotating torches that prepare bevels for weld preparation - to adjust the angle of the torches at the control without the need for any additional and time-consuming set-up procedures.

By installing more than a hundred Korenix industrial Ethernet switches in 22 of its trackside railway stations and 96 field level sites, the rail operator of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway has now eliminated the risk of broadcast storms on its environmental monitoring and control system network.

Composite junction boxes for aircraft carrier lighting systems

The Aircraft Carrier Alliance, a partnering relationship between BAE Systems, Thales UK, Babcock and the UK Ministry of Defence, is currently undergoing the process of building two of the world's largest aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy; the first of which, the HMS Queen Elizabeth, is due to enter service in 2020. Rather than using traditional metal junction boxes, which are prone to corrosion damage and denting, the ship builder has opted to specify Spelsberg's tough, polycarbonate Abox range.

STS crane refurbishment in Honduras

The Puerto CortÃ©s container terminal is the main seaport in Honduras. It is capable of handling roughly 600,000 TEUs (twenty foot equivalent container units) per annum. The port is equipped with two ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, five mobile harbour cranes (MHCs) and 12 straddle carriers. Puerto CortÃ©s is state owned and is operated by Empresa Nacional Portuaria (ENP).
