CC-Link IE TSN attracts attention at Hannover Messe

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) reported a highly successful debut at Hannover Messe 2019. Taking centre stage was the association's latest technology, CC-Link IE TSN. This is the first open industrial Ethernet that combines Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) and Gigabit capabilities to offer unmatched performance for Industry 4.0 applications.

Over 6000 exhibitors and approximately 220,000 visitors gathered at Hannover Messe 2019 to discuss and showcase the opportunities for "Integrated Industry - Industrial Intelligenc", the theme of this year's fair.

The CLPA's biggest stand ever was built for its debut at Hannover Messe. This decision was driven by the increasing demand for the association's open automation networks, which are also fuelling its strong international growth.

During the event, CLPA attracted a large attendance to its booth and its numerous presentations. High levels of interest were shown for CC-Link IE TSN and its TSN technology. The latter was launched last November at SPS/IPC/Drives 2018 and marks a big step forward in open industrial Ethernet.

By combining IEEE 802.1 standards with 1Gbit bandwidth, CC-Link IE TSN offers real-time, deterministic transmission of time-critical process data with general network traffic. This means that end users can benefit from fast and reliable transfers of large volumes of data across their entire enterprise. In addition, it also offers the integration of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT), supporting Industry 4.0 applications.

Visitors to CLPA's stand also saw the development ecosystem that the CLPA and its partners have assembled to provide hardware and software systems for CC-Link IE TSN.

John Browett, General Manager at CLPA Europe, comments: "This is the first time we have exhibited at Hannover Messe and it was an enormous success. The event gave us the perfect chance to meet with our partners and users as well as showcase our latest addition to the CC-Link IE family of open industrial Ethernet technologies, CC-Link IE TSN.

"It was exciting to see such a positive response to our participation at the fair and share how many CLPA partners are already planning development of solutions for CC-Link IE TSN. This underscores our commitment to continue delivering industry-leading open network technologies that will provide an enduring competitive advantage for manufacturing now and in the future."
