CC-Link continues to strengthen its position as a global open automation network technology by announcing the appointment of another major global corporation to its board of directors.

CC-Link plans major board member announcement at SPS/IPC/Drives

Once again, the CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) will take its place with other leaders of automation technology in Hall 2, stand 2-540 at Nuremburg's SPS/IPC/Drives fair from 25-27 November 2014. One of the main announcements this year is the addition of another major global corporation to the CLPA board of directors. The new member, who will be announced at the fair, joins the existing eight members who include worldwide names such as Mitsubishi Electric, Cognex, 3M and Balluff. Together these companies decide the global strategy for CLPA that is implemented by its worldwide network of offices.

Another key message being delivered at the fair is how CC-Link IE, the world's only open gigabit Ethernet for automation, helps to deliver systems and products for Industry 4.0. The CLPA foresaw this new industry initiative when CC-Link IE was first announced in 2007, and has continued to strengthen this technology ever since. Independent market research has indicated that CC-Link IE is the fastest growing Ethernet-based open network technology, and the recent IEC 61158/61784 certification for CC-Link IE Field will further strengthen its position.

It has been 1 year since the CLPA announced its successful "Gateway to Asia" (G2A) programme at SPS 2013, and currently 26 well-known CLPA partners are involved in the programme. Visitors to the CLPA stand can learn how the G2A programme can also help their business in Asia with a comprehensive package of development and marketing benefits when they join the CLPA and develop a product.

Key to developing a product are providers of the right systems for implementation. CLPA will also highlight key approaches from industry leaders and CLPA partners such as Hilscher, HMS and Renesas for cost-effective, familiar implementation of CC-Link and CC-Link IE in a wide variety of automation products. Finally, ultimately any network has to be applicable across a wide variety of industries. CLPA will demonstrate sample systems for different industries at the fair, showing how different partner products combine to form a product for your industry.

CLPA Europe General Manager, John Browett, summarises: "CC-Link, CC-Link IE and the CLPA continue to grow stronger year by year. We now have over 2100 partners worldwide and more than 1300 products available from over 280 companies. The addition of our new board member will also demonstrate to the market how CC-Link is continuing to attract the support of major global corporations who understand the significance of CC-Link to their business as they continue to expand their operations worldwide. We are hoping that visitors to the fair will make it to Hall 2 and see how CC-Link can help their business."
