Chain tensioners deliver maximum flexibility and precise tension

Standard parts specialist, norelem, has launched a new chain tensioner line in three sizes, designed to ensure maximum flexibility and precise tension in chain drive systems.

Chain tensioners deliver maximum flexibility and precise tension

The range offers different tension force options and robust materials, protecting components from wear. With its adaptable design, the new line covers virtually every machine engineering requirement - from tight installation situations to heavy-duty chain applications.

Chain tensioners are used across a wide range of machines and systems, maintaining constant chain tension to compensate for the gradual lengthening caused by wear. norelem's new chain tensioners are designed for free-running, resilient operation, preventing excessive bearing stress while optimally controlling the total force of the chain weight and centrifugal force on the slack side.

They are easy to install and should ideally be placed directly behind the drive wheel to minimise the slack side length. The chain tensioner housing is available in plastic, steel or stainless steel for demanding applications, while the sliding sections are made of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethene (PE-UHMW).

Almir Jakupovic, Sales Director, at norelem commented: "With our new chain tensioner line, we're giving engineers flexible, reliable solutions for maintaining optimal chain performance. The three size options and adjustable tension forces mean there's a suitable model for every application - whether that's compact systems, heavy-duty machinery, or anything in between."

Size TS features a standard galvanised steel housing coated with acrylic enamel and is available with a curved or elliptical profile. The tensioning system includes two pre-tensioned compression springs that can be released separately for three tension levels: right spring released - high tension; left spring released - low tension; and both springs released - extra high tension.

Size 0, compact and ideal for tight installation spaces, is available in two tension force versions: light spring force (58-32 N) and increased spring force (132-60 N). Its narrow design makes it ideal for confined spaces, and the plastic housing eliminates the risk of corrosion.

Size 1, versatile and available in two tension force versions and two forms: low spring force (174-32 N) or increased spring force (396-60 N), with form A (short housing) and form B (long housing).

Additional features include a colour scale for quick visual checking of the chain tension, as well as various mounting brackets and slots for easy adjustment.

With its modular design and robust construction, norelem's new chain tensioner line delivers maximum precision, flexibility, and reliability for modern machine engineering applications.
