Chris Lloyd, who has been General Manager of Spelsberg UK for the last two years, has been appointed as the enclosure specialist's new UK MD. The appointment follows a successful period of business expansion under his stewardship, which has seen the company move into new headquarters and invest in CNC production and assembly capabilities.
Spelsberg is an ex-stock supplier of non-metallic electrical enclosures in the UK. It supplies bespoke equipment to OEMs of all sizes, including multi-national corporations, which reduce build and installation costs and guarantee reliability. Its standard product profile is also available through the major electrical catalogue and online retailers, such as RS, Farnell and CPC.
Chris began his career in 1990 as an Electrical Engineer, during which time he gained essential experience in electrical installation and the specification of components. In 2001 he began his sales career and has been working with Spelsberg UK since 2006 as Sales and Marketing Manager. Since 2011 Chris has also had the responsibility of General Manager, and has led the company through years of consistent growth.
His appointment as MD allows him continue to modernise the company; investing in new facilities and developing the company's customisation capabilities to keep lead times and costs reduced for all of its customers.
Chris Lloyd comments: "The last few years have been extremely positive for Spelsberg UK as we have focussed on expanding the services that we offer our customers. We are no longer simply a supplier of enclosures, although we have increased our trade stock and support that side of our business strongly.
"We now act as a specification partner; helping customers to design bespoke enclosures, CNC machining the enclosures in-house and even assembling the product prior to delivery. This has allowed us to reduce project development and build costs for our customers whilst also reducing install time and developing a market reputation for expertise in our field.
"2013 has been an exciting year. We moved into our new headquarters, which has doubled our warehouse capacity, and invested in new CNC machines. This has allowed us to reduce lead times for nearly all of our orders, both standard and bespoke. I plan to continue to develop the company keeping a focus on value added services for our customers."
