Compact gear pumps meet the needs of machine builders
Compact, lightweight and high-performance, Micropump gear pumps are being used for a variety of applications in machinery.
Micropump gear pumps, which are available through Michael Smith Engineers, meet the challenge of providing high-performance pumping, outstanding reliability and functionality, yet need minimal space. Two recent examples of the application of these pumps are outlined below.
Formaldehyde dosing
A system builder uses the Micropump Integral Series within a piece of equipment used in pet food manufacturing for adding a formaldehyde as part of the process of eliminating bacteria.
Vitamin coatings
A producer of breakfast cereals has incorporated the Micropump IS pump/drive unit in its production line to spray vitamin coatings onto breakfast cereals.
The Micropump range includes a wide range of options, the latest of which is the I-Drive unit. This delivers flows up to 5litres/min at maximum differential pressures of up to 5.6bar and the speed can be automatically varied in proportion to a 0-5V DC input signal or a 4-20mA current loop. Manually controlled drive options are also available.
