Motor Technology is now supplying the Lenord + Bauer GEL 2477 to customers in this UK. This new space-saving, two-channel speed sensor, with integral pulse amplifier, is suitable for use in harsh environments and on applications where space is limited. The GEL 2477 features a robust, stainless steel housing and operates with any ferromagnetic measuring wheel to provide high-resolution, non-contact speed sensing of rotational motion.
The new sensor benefits from an integrated interpolation module that is capable of increasing the resolution by a factor of two, four or eight. Thanks to the contact-free, magnetic sensing principle, it is suitable for use in harsh environments; even oil and dirt have no detrimental effect on the sensor, plus it is suitable for use in environments with large fluctuations in temperature.
As a further extension to Lenord + Bauer's existing range of speed sensors, the GEL 2477 provides another alternative to conventional encoder technologies, offering reduced installation space and integration costs. Pre-wired cables and simple flange mounting help to simplify installation.
Lenord + Bauer's GEL 2477 speed sensor is said to be particularly suitable for motor, gearbox and roller applications requiring improved performance and quality, as these characteristics benefit directly from the resolution of the sensing device. The GEL 2477 is sealed to IP68, wear- and maintenance-free, and is suitable for use in environments with a temperature range of -40 to +120degC.
