Compact operator panels suit smaller machines
Beijer Electronics is introducing the Exter K10m and Exter K20m operator panels as the smallest keypad panels in the Exter series, yet machine builders in the packaging, manufacturing, and food and beverage industries will benefit from several valuable features.
Both panels have a keypad interface and a monochrome display. There is significant demand for such operator panels in applications with limited space and no requirement for a graphical display. Typically they are used in smaller machines within the packaging, manufacturing, and food and beverage industries.
The new Exter panels are suitable for applications where machine and process parameters needs to be viewed and set. Parameter settings are facilitated by the numerical keypad, and the six function keys can be programmed to represent the most frequently used commands.
Just like the larger Exter panels, the Exter K10m and Exter K20m have an IP66-rated front and built-in support for alarm-handling, multilanguage and recipe management. Communication ports for RS232/422/485 are also built-in. As an extra bonus for a small panel like this, users also benefit from an optional Ethernet connection. This is suitable when using the panels in Ethernet-based control and motion systems.
High-quality monochrome displays
The panels are equipped with monochrome FSTN displays; the Exter K10m offers a resolution of 160x32 pixels and Exter K20m 240x64 pixels, which enables the use of, for instance, Asian and Russian characters. The displays also have dimmable backlight so that they easily can be optimised for the surrounding lighting conditions.
Eventually the Exter K10m and Exter K20m will replace the current Cimrex 10, 12 and 20 models. Users of the Cimrex models can easily convert their available projects in the Information Designer configuration software, so that valuable time is saved.
