Contrinex has now announced the expansion of its very successful High-Pressure rated inductive sensors family to include Smart sensor functionality. The sensors operate flawlessly under pressures of up to 7,250 psi or 500 bar, and withstand peak pressures of up to 14500 psi or 1000 bar.
These sensors are fully resistant to dynamic stresses. A patented technology ensures that all electronics, including the ferrite core and coil, are located on the unpressurised side of the stainless-steel housing. This, says Contrinex, results in an unusually long life under pressure cycle stress.
Their robust construction makes them ideal for applications in challenging environments where durability and reliability are critical.
The introduction of Smart sensor options adds in the option of the sensors having an inbuilt microcontroller, to go beyond traditional functionality, offering high-resolution monitoring of critical application-specific parameters:
Temperature Monitoring: Recording of temperature data allows for real-time insights into operational conditions.
Cycle Counting: Sensors track cumulative cycle counts, supporting predictive maintenance strategies and extending the lifespan of machinery.
Piston Positioning: Advanced detection technology provides accurate positioning of pistons, optimising performance and precision.
The compact design allows for seamless integration into cylinder or valve systems. With the PocketCodr configurator, users benefit from a hassle-free setup experience. Features like remote teaching, live interactive graphs, and action widgets eliminate the need for complex coding, making these sensors accessible to both experts and novices.
The future of predictive maintenance
By collecting and analysing application-specific environmental data, such as temperature and cycle count, these sensors enable event-based failure alerts, empowering maintenance teams to address issues proactively. This reduces downtime, enhances safety, and optimises operational efficiency.
Contrinex says these Smart High-Pressure Sensors redefine what's possible in industrial monitoring and automation. Contrinex sensors and more information are available from PLUS Automation.
