Contrinex Hammers Home the Robustness of the 700-Series Inductive Sensors
Contrinex's robust 700-Series EXTREME inductive sensors are perhaps as famous for being demonstrated fitted into a mallet and being used to hammer in nails as is their ability to operate reliably in harsh manufacturing environments.

Sometimes, we joke that 'Americans believe bigger is best', and Contrinex USA is living up to this stereotype by replacing the typical 'hammer in 2-inch nails into a block of wood' demonstration by just 'bashing the heck' out of the inductive sensor instead. Inductive sensors tend to be very fragile and easily damaged, so Contrinex developed its 700-Series inductive sensors to be exceptionally robust. Additionally, the front and sides of the sensor are machined from a single piece of V2A/AISI 303 stainless steel. In contrast to this, competitor's sensors typically have either a plastic front face or use a thin metal foil welded to the metal cylindrical body. Therefore, the 700-Series sensors are abrasion, impact and corrosion-resistant, impervious to oil, and pressure-resistant to 100 bar.
In the video, Luca highlights how the front face of the demonstration sensor is dented, yet it works perfectly without any loss of performance.
Contrinex's 700 Series inductive sensors are well-proven at withstanding the harshest industrial operating conditions. They are IP68 and IP69K-rated and deliver high performance with fit-and-forget robustness. They combine sensing distances up to 40 mm, with sensing both ferrous and non-ferrous materials equally, namely Factor 1 performance - they are available in sizes from M8 to M30 and a flat rectangular housing the C23.
