Parvalux is launching a range of DC brushed motors with planetary gearheads. Suitable for a diverse range of industrial applications, the gearmotors are claimed to provide high output torque at competitive prices. They will therefore appeal to machine and product designers who want reliability without compromising profitability.
The range consists of six compact and efficient DC brushed motors providing output torques from 0.05-30Nm and output speeds from 3-863rpm. Motor diameters are 38mm through to 71mm, enabling their use in small areas.
Featuring a die-cast aluminium housing, the motors utilise conventional long-life brushes and strong ferrite magnets for trouble-free operation. With a 'sealed for life' gearbox, the combined unit is ready for installation immediately, and is said to be so reliable that it requires no maintenance. Available in 12 or 24V versions as standard, customised versions can also be built by Parvalux upon request.
Further features of the motor-gearboxes include a starting current that is approximately three times full load, shielded ball bearings within the motor that are spring-loaded for quiet running, and the motor is reversible. Gearboxes are fitted with sealed ball bearings, have a composite primary gear and steel secondary gears (or all-steel gears can be fitted if required), are grease-lubricated for life, and can be mounted in any orientation.
Optional extras include double-ended motor spindles, non-standard shafts (stainless steel, keyways, flats, etc), and a thyristor DC controller. Parvalux says that evaluation units can be quickly engineered, manufactured and delivered within 24 hours.
