Curtain up on Category 4 safety advances
Norstat safety light curtains include models with built in muting functions
The JANUS line of category 4 light curtains from NORSTAT is said to allow the setting of each function to be easily performed via the main connector, so there is no need for configuration software.
JANUS also offers incorporation of the main safety functions, including self-testing of the solid-state outputs, external device monitoring (EDM) and Start/Restart interlock functions.
Robust construction
“The JANUS’s rugged design also delivers exceptional reliability in the field, thanks to its robust construction and the exceptional level of protection to any external interference [optical, EMC etc]," says NORSTAT.
The JANUS family has incorporated a built-in muting function in all its models, "making them an ideal solution for palletising applications, due to the configuration flexibility of the Muting time-outs", adds NORSTAT. MI series 'Long Range' models are available, with ranges up to 60 m for hand protection with a resolution of 40 mm or for body detection utilising 2, 3 or 4 beams.
The JANUS carries a protection rating of IP 65 and can operate in temperatures from -10°C to +55°C.
