Dataforth 5B signal conditioning modules for the UK market

In spite of the narrowing availability of the 5B signal conditioning modules, Impulse Corporation Ltd is committing to supply Dataforth's entire range to the UK market.

Craig Stone, the General Manager at Impulse, says: "Our UK customers can be assured of a stable supply of 5B modules from Impulse for at least the next 10 years. Our 5B modules from Dataforth offer excellent quality and reliability, and our continued commitment to supply ensures our customers have a long-term viable signal conditioning solution for many years to come."

Impulse's line of isolated analogue 5B modules includes 19 family groups and more than 250 different modules. Input modules interface to all types of industrial sensors and also filter, isolate and amplify input signals. The modules then convert these signals to a high-level analogue voltage output, ready to interface directly with customers' data acquisition and control systems.

The 5B modules offered by Impulse feature a wide variety of analogue inputs, including voltage and current in narrow and wide bandwidths, thermocouple, RTD, accelerometer, potentiometer, strain gauge, frequency and two-wire transmitters. The 5B modules output modules accept high-level voltage signals from a host system and provide process current or voltage output to field devices.

Accessories include DIN-rail mounting options, cables, racks and power supplies. Custom module designs are available on request.

Key features include:

  • +/-0.03 per cent accuracy (typical)
  • 2500Vrms transformer isolation and 240Vrms field-side protection
  • ANSI/IEE C37.90.1 transient protection
  • Four- to six-pole low-pass filtering
  • -40 to +85degC operating temperature range
  • CSA C/US certified (Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D)
  • CE and ATEX compliant
