dataTaker DT85 data logger features high channel count
Grant Instruments is introducing the dataTaker DT85 data logger, designed for use in the most challenging industrial and environmental monitoring applications requiring multiple sensor inputs.
The DT85's innovative Dual Channel Isolation technology enables up to 32 isolated or 48 common referenced analogue inputs to be used. This high universal channel count allows larger data logging and engineering projects to be undertaken by fewer loggers, thereby saving engineering time and costs. Each channel can also be configured for different types of signal input.
In addition, the DT85 features a regulated 12V DC output to power other devices, and 'smart sensor' ports that can be easily configured to work with complex sensors. Engineering or research projects using both passive sensors and complex active sensors can be quickly deployed and easily implemented.
The DT85 is a robust, standalone, low-power and cost-effective data logger. It includes all the advanced features available within the dataTaker range: support for USB memory sticks, Modbus communication for use in SCADA or PLC applications, Ethernet, web connectivity, auto-FTP file transfer and multiple SDI-12 sensor networks.
Sensor versatility
Grant says the DT85 connects easily to most sensors, including high-speed counter inputs, phase encoder inputs and programmable serial sensor channels. Temperature, voltage, current, 4-20mA loops, resistance, bridges, strain gauges, frequency, digital, serial and calculated measurements can all be scaled, logged and returned in engineering units or within statistical reporting.
The new logger also enables group sampling, logging, alarm and control tasks within schedules. Smart sensors, GPS, PLCs, and other intelligent devices are supported via two serial sensor ports (RS232 or RS422/485), with the optional dataTaker CANgate interface available for CANbus applications.
As the latest in the range of data acquisition products and accessories on offer from Grant, the dataTaker DT85 is designed to satisfy the most demanding data collection requirements across industrial, scientific, R&D and environmental applications.
The Grant data acquisition product range extends from high-specification, portable data logging systems (the Squirrel family) through to fully-integrated custom-configurable acquisition and control systems (the dataTaker family), while Eltek, the Cambridge-based Grant affiliate, produces Squirrel variants primarily for remote logging. All products come with a comprehensive warranty. OEM versions of most products are available on request.
