Deritend acquires H&K Industrial Services

Deritend Industries, the national industrial maintenance group, has acquired H&K Industrial Services (H&K), thereby strengthening the company's position as a full facilities maintenance group servicing manufacturing, power generation, utilities and other sectors.

With its headquarters in Wolverhampton and serving customers throughout the UK and internationally, Deritend now has 14 engineering service centres employing over 300 skilled personnel with sales of more than £30million pa.

Following the acquisition of RMB Engineering in 2007 Deritend is pursuing an ambitious acquisition programme designed to maintain its position as a leader in plant maintenance, repairs and facilities management to an ever increasing customer base seeking increased efficiency and cost reduction.

H&K is said to have an unrivalled reputation in industrial mechanical and engineering (M&E) services specialising in pipework, electrical and mechanical building services plus bespoke M&E offerings. It will complement Deritend's strengths in electrical, power, transmission and machine tool repair and refurbishment, as well as enabling Deritend to offer a comprehensive support service to clients ranging from power stations, manufacturing and processing plants, and utilities installations through to hospitals and theme parks.

Joe Fellows, Deritend H&K General Manager, comments: "We are excited at joining such a dynamic and experienced organisation as Deritend. This is very good news for our customers."

Richard K Hale, Group Managing Director of Deritend, is equally positive, saying: "Following the administration of Delton we saw an opportunity to step in and maximise the potential offering of H&K by putting it on a firm financial footing for the benefit of both its client base and our own. The fit is excellent, which is how it should be."
