Design & Automation Solutions

The company was founded in 2012 by Mick Stallwood, a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with a vision. His aim was to provide a ‘Concept to Completion’ service for manufacturing businesses and research organisations

When Mick started the business his aim was to provide a ‘Concept to Completion’ service for manufacturing businesses and research organisations. The business plan was to offer manufacturers across industries a one stop shop for all their factory automation, tooling and associated engineering requirements.

DAS offers a factory automation consultancy and equipment service to clients worldwide, with a ‘Concept to Completion’ service that encompasses robotics, special purpose machinery, systems integration and engineering support. Innovative designs coupled with the experience gained from 35 years of machine building are used to create high quality UK engineered solutions utilising as many standard parts as possible in order to control costs and reduce design and build times.

Equipment as well as complete bespoke machines and automation solutions for adhesive and gasket application, assembly, packaging, parts handling, testing and much more have all been successfully designed, built and commissioned across diverse range of industries.

DAS says that it provides a comprehensive Design & Consultancy Service that helps clients improve their operational efficiency and therefore their profitability. Specialist DAS engineers have a wealth of industry knowledge and are able to ‘think outside of the box’ to conceive, design and deliver bespoke designs and solutions that fit with the unique requirements of every individual customer. Where necessary DAS can call on approved outside experts for additional resources as required.

The manufacture and assembly of equipment from a small jig or fixture through to a complete production cell takes place at the DAS factory in Maidenhead. Special purpose machinery together with robotics and systems integration, (using either its own designs or those of a customer) can be designed, manufactured, tested and approved on site prior to delivery and commissioning. The DAS team of engineers works closely with all major automation components suppliers to ensure that they design, develop and deliver fully compliant machines with performance tested systems to meet the most demanding specifications and requirements.

Projects successfully completed include:

· Adhesive & Gasket Application Machines

· Assembly & Test Systems

· Conveyors & Diverters

· Feeding & Handling Systems

· Gantry Systems

· Inspection & Sorting Equipment

· Jigs & Fixtures

· Packaging Machinery

· Robotics & End of Arm Tooling

DAS also provides a comprehensive range of engineering services to clients, supporting all sorts of machinery and equipment.

Solving problems for manufacturers is the core of the DAS business and with offices in both Oxfordshire and Tyne & Wear the company states that it is well placed to serve its customers nationally.
