Drive Lines Technologies acquired by RARUK Holdings

Power transmission solution provider Drive Lines Technologies has been acquired by RARUK Holdings, joining the RARUK Group. The acquisition will ensure the future security of Drive Lines Technologies and will allow RARUK Holdings to explore new markets.

Drive Lines Technologies has over thirty years’ experience in supplying mechanical power transmission components in Great Britain and Ireland, from manufacturers across the world. The company’s product range includes gear boxes, screw jacks and linear motion drives.

Following the acquisition, Drive Lines Technologies has relocated to RARUK Holdings’ headquarters in Shefford, Bedfordshire. Other than the change in location and ownership, Drive Lines Technologies will continue to operate as a separate entity. Ian Carr will continue in his role as managing director, ensuring the transition is handled as smoothly as possible.

RARUK Holdings already has two operating companies, RA Rodriguez (UK) and RARUK Automation. Established in 1968, RA Rodriguez is exclusive representative to a number of leading international component manufacturers from Europe, USA and Japan.

The RA Rodriguez product range includes quality gears, bearings, drives and actuators. Meanwhile, RARUK Automation is a UK supplier of innovative automation solutions, including collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, automated warehouse storage solutions and flexible feeding systems.

“I am extremely pleased to be operating as part of the RARUK group,” said Ian Carr, managing director of Drive Lines. “The synergy between our companies and the working culture were key drivers in the acquisition journey. I have long been an admirer of the RARUK business model and can think of no better ‘home’ for the future of Drive Lines. We look forward to providing power transmission solutions to our customers for many generations to come.”

Similarly, Peter Williamson, managing director of RARUK Holdings, commented: “The acquisition of Drive Lines is a very positive move for the RARUK Group for two main reasons. Firstly, the Drive Lines product portfolio and customer base perfectly complements that of RA Rodriguez. Secondly, the culture of providing high quality manufactured engineering solutions with market leading technical support and service is an exact match for the principles of the RARUK Group.”
