Drive systems from NORD for all packaging process stages

Drive specialist NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will present its comprehensive product portfolio and its packaging industry expertise at Fachpack in Nuremberg, presenting tailor-made, economical and sustainable drive solutions for all stages in the packaging process - primary, secondary or end-of-line packaging.

Drive systems from NORD for all packaging process stages

They are optimally tailored to the specific requirements of all types of packaging, strapping and palletising machines and contribute to a significant reduction in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

With the compact drive systems, machine operators benefit from reduced maintenance effort ('plug-and-play'), more space in the control cabinet, less wiring effort and simplified maintenance. Fachpack visitors can experience the benefits that can be achieved for their own applications at first hand.

End-of-line packaging

End-of-line packaging is characterised by heavy loads, high forces and long travel distances. For these applications, NORD developed efficient decentralised drive solutions with frequency inverters that ensure safe (motion) control for heavy loads.

The lean, reliable systems allow a great level of freedom in system design and reduce installation effort. Overall, users benefit from a wide product range as well as low procurement costs and faster commissioning compared to solutions with servo drives.

NORDAC ON/ON+

In the area of infeed and handling of packaging machines, the decentralised NORDAC ON/ON+ frequency inverters convince with their compact design and high reliability. They are characterised by PLC functionality for functions close to the drive unit (PLC onboard) and an integrated Ethernet interface. ProfiNET, EtherNET IP and EtherCAT can be set via parameters.

Compared to conventional centralised frequency inverters, NORD says they significantly reduce the wiring effort. They are available in two variants: NORDAC ON has been designed for use with asynchronous motors whereas NORDAC ON+ is intended for the combination with high-efficiency IE5+ synchronous motors. With their plug-and-play function, the smart inverters provide a compact and economical solution for modern production environments.

NORDAC FLEX SK 200E

The NORDAC FLEX SK 200E frequency inverter is the most flexible of its kind from NORD. Thanks to its scalable functions, it can be optimally adapted to the requirements of customers in the packaging industry.

With extensive digital and analogue inputs and outputs as well as optional In/Out extension, it offers high compatibility with common PLC controls. It features an expandable Ethernet interface and is compatible with all common higher-level PLC controls and NORD frequency inverters.

NORDAC LINK

The NORDAC LINK allows to implement flexible decentralised drive solutions. Available as a frequency inverter and motor starter, it provides simple installation and maintenance. It is flexible to configure and easy to operate, facilitates the integration into all common bus systems and reduces the wiring effort.

Servo adapter for precise packaging processes

NORD's servo adapter solutions offer seamless integration for NEMA and IEC flange motors. The adapters enable reliable connections that withstand the demanding conditions in the packaging industry. They consist of robust, durable materials and feature simple installation and maintenance.

All in all, they maximise the performance of the motors and improve the productivity and quality of the packaging processes. The servo adapter solutions can also be adapted to individual customer requirements.
