DryLin W plain linear bearings feature in short movie
The igus DryLin W modular linear guide system is described as low-cost and versatile, being available in both single- and double-rail configurations. One significant advantage of this linear slide system is that assembly is simple: the housing can be attached just by the turn of a screw.
DryLin W bearings are resistant to wear and friction, as well as being lightweight, due to the construction from self-lubricating polymer and hard-anodised aluminium for the rails. These features deliver smooth and quiet operation.
The range meets a wide variety of design requirements because of its versatility. All double rails and complete carriages are available in a variety of lengths and they can be delivered with additional features such as adjustable bearings or a manual clamp.
Although DryLin W is a profile rail system, it is able to compensate for angular rotation errors around the x-axis with an adjustment of up to 7 degrees possible. This effectively eliminates the strain that can occur when fitted to sheet metal fabrications. In addition, DryLin W has been used in a variety of applications such as glass cutting, packaging and printing machines, as well as becoming popular in camera slide technology.
