Dual-Port USB data isolation with Murata Power NMUSB202MC
Mouser Electronics is now stocking the NMUSB202MC Dual-Port USB Data Isolator from Murata Power. This surface-mount isolator provides an isolation barrier between a computer and two connected USB devices, helping to extend effective breaking of ground loops and immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI) while allowing data transmission.
Murata Power Solutions' NMUSB202MC Powered Dual-Port USB Data Isolator is a USB 2.0-compliant surface-mount module that supplies dual-port USB data isolation from a single upstream port with full 500mA power available from each downstream port. This 5V 1.3A USB data isolator features automatic switching between low speed at 1.5Mbits per second and full speed at 12Mbits per second.
Featuring verified integrity through a 1-second 3kV AC isolation, downstream short-circuit and overload protection, and power surge notification, the NMUSB202MC Powered Dual-Port USB Data Isolator is suitable for harsh environments with risk of EMI or electrostatic discharge (ESD). Suitable applications for this isolator include industrial and medical technologies, where non-isolated USB power can damage peripherals or users, or EMI may cause inaccurate data readings.
