Easy-to-use vision-guided pick-and-place system for cobots
Universal Robot (UR) collaborative robots and Robotiq grippers are already a popular combination for RARUK Automation's customers and one that is made even more powerful by the choice available. RARUK Automation is the only supplier in the UK to offer the complete range of Robotiq off-the-shelf two-finger and three-finger grippers, as well as its six-axis torque sensor.
At TOTAL 2016, visitors to the RARUK Automation stand (E20) will be introduced to another new addition, the Robotiq vision-guided pick-and-place system. It has been developed to attract manufacturers who wish to incorporate vision but have so far been dissuaded by the complexity and cost of existing systems.
Designed specifically to work with the UR, the new Robotiq Vision System shortens set-up time to just five minutes and makes vision exceptionally easy to integrate, thereby opening up many new possibilities for automation.
The compact camera design fits neatly on the UR wrist and provides direct connectivity to the controller. The camera's user-friendly software is seamlessly embedded with the UR's graphical user interface. No external PC is required to set-up, programme or run the camera, as everything is done via the GUI.
It takes just a few minutes to teach the Robotiq camera a new part, with no need for any coding. It automatically locates the part in its field of vision and, thanks to its wrist-mount design on the UR, the system does not need complex calibration procedures or extra external illumination. The search area can also be expanded without dealing with complex fixtures.
